how to get blown out of a tourney in 2 hands

early in tourney i meant to raise to 150 w/AK and instead hit 1503. One caller, flop comes K-high so i shove & he calls with A9 to double me. I should've known that was too good to be true...

nice that i finished 5th, but after i got up to 2nd place, i really had only one acceptable finish, and 5th sure as shit wasnt it. but, i am proud of myself for another FT and doing it in HORSE.

online stalemate & live bubble

haven't been playing much lately at all. over the past week I did a grand total of 3 SNGs, winning the first, a $5 o/8, then having 2 sick knockouts - shoved 99 into AA on a 7-high flop, then slowplayed a flopped set against a turned broadway gutshot. nice.

got a rare opportunity to play a live tourney 2 weekends ago, a $50 buyin at Harrahs. I enjoy live play so much better than online. last time i played a live tourney, i ended up agreeing to a 5-way chop at final table with me as the technical "winner" since I had a slight chip lead at that point. This was another final table, which isn't overwhelmingly impressive considering only 28 people started, but I made it to the last 4, and 3 spots were paid. At this point there was one big chip leader and the rest of us were all relatively even. And it had taken so long to get to that point that the blinds were insane compared to stack size, with the 3 of us between 20-40k and blinds 4k/8k.

fortunately, once it got 4-handed, one player suggested a bubble pay, everybody put in $20 and whoever went out 4th would basically walk away with a $10 profit for their efforts.

of course, bubble boy was me. I was amazingly card-dead throughout the tournament. I picked up KK once, AQ 3 times, 10-10 once, 99 once, and AJ on my last hand, and that was it for premium starting hands through the entire 5-hour excursion. I was in the BB for 8 of my last 24k, button shoved his 30k-ish stack, so of course there's no way for me to fold, and he had AQ. gg me. oh well, at least with the bubble pay I didn't lose anything.

couple key hands along the way -

3rd hand I pick up AQ, raise & get one caller. Flop AAx. I considered slowplay but at this stage thought i'd be better off leading out, hoping villain would think i would check an ace and just throwing out a c-bet, but after a little bit of thought he folded.

little bit later had 9-2 in BB, flop came 227. I bet & got 2 callers. turn was another 7 - actually a scary card for me but in hindsight this is probably where i should've slowplayed - there were 2 flush draws out now, and when i bet, everybody folded. If i check and somebody hits a flush, I could've taken a few more chips.

I made 2 mistakes along the way - with blinds 1k/2k and I had about 28k left, which was avg at the time, I limped 22 utg. a tight player raised and another called, so now i'm getting little more than 3-1 to call, but that would cost me almost 1/4 of my stack. I should've just open-mucked, but now was kinda stuck with calling, of course missed the flop.

2 hands later pick up a-4 offsuit in SB and complete after couple callers. flop came KK3 & it checked around. Turn was a 10 & 2nd club on board & it checked to me. for some reason i thought i had Ac4c, not Ac4s as it actually was, so thinking i was on nut flush draw, bet about 2/3 pot, got one fold and a call. river was a brick. I now had 2 choices - give up and be crippled, or shove and probably bust because if villain was slowplaying a king obviously he calls, and I felt if he hit the 10 he'd call also. i opted to just give it up, villain did have a 10 but told me if i went all in on the river he would've folded. so that left me with 11k and in awful shape.

fortunately, desperation works sometimes - pick up K8 offsuit in BB, folds to this monstrosity of a woman in SB who limps, I shove & she instacalls with 10J offsuit lol. thanks for the double up. couple hands later pick up AK sooooted otb & shove hoping one of the blinds would have a decent hand and call thinking i was just stealing, but they both folded. i didnt pick up another hand from that point until the AJ that I busted with. There were couple hands where I had K10 off, QJ off, and thought about shoving but I just felt like my best chance was to be ultra-patient and let others drop, and not risk it on a very borderline hand. Unfortunately a couple of shorties doubled up along the way, which helped land me in 4th when it was over.

but, cant complain about back to back top 5 finishes in my last 2 live tourneys. now if i could just get into a big one and do that...

someday i'll keep a run going

started turning things around, made another $2 rebuy final table, had a 3rd and 2 2nds in sngs, and all was well. since then, 4 sick bustouts - ran 1010 into AA, A10 vs. QQ on 10-high flop, QQ flopped set in omaha, AA turned set... 15th in $2 rebuy today AJ < 88 allin pre.

not bad

continue my run of just not playing very much. all the suckouts, coolers and bad beats have really taken a toll. Monday did a $3 omaha tourney and took 4th for $40. No majorly exciting hands to talk about, except I did miss an opportunity to win i think. This assclown at my table was acting like a real schmuck, and started going crazy when i folded a hand with a straight on the board about how stupid I was cause it was a chop. I am just praying it was a level, because if he was genuinely that clueless about omaha and made the FT anyway, that would be just way too highly disturbing for me to handle. Anyway, he was raising obnoxiously almost every hand, one hand I picked up A10Jx sooted, normally playable for me, but i folded not wanting to have to fold to his raise, but this time he limped, and the flop wouldve given me the flush draw and openender, so I could very possibly have crushed him on that hand. But I didn't, and ran QQxx into KKxx preflop. gg

lastnight did another $2 1r1a, finished 17th. Couldnt get much going all night but still managed to get that far, ran AQ into AK preflop, flopped the Q then turned K. gg again.

ho hum

since coming back from break i played 4 times - 7th in a stt when i turned dummy end of straight against flop nut straight. then two 2nds in stts, and the FT bubble in the 2r. so overall not terrible.

did the $2 1r1a. had a very tough spot at one point - called a pf raise with 99, flop came 3 unders, all spades, & I had the 9. raiser bet about 1/2 pot, i minraised. he shoved & sent me into the tank. did he have overpair with a spade? overpair no spade? AsK-type hand? i eventually folded and he told me after the tourney he had AsAx, so good laydown i guess.

looked like i was on my way to cashing until this hand against villain from the other hand...

so sick, and yet so standard, at least for me. i hate poker.

break changes nothing

so after being on vacation for a week and not playing for couple days after getting back, i got back on the FT horse today. did 2 $5 sngs, took 2nd in one against ridiculous luckbox, no cash in the other

did $2 rebuy, in for $10. i was final table bubbleboy, for a whopping $1 profit, and this joke is how it happened after I played damn near perfect poker throughout...

the slide continues, sickly

well first there was the rambler series. lost decent size pot when i flopped top pair and LJ called me on flop & turn with 2nd pair & hit trips on river. nice catch. actually had some luck when i caught runnner-runner to bust a shorty. then pick up QQ, flop ace and lose big pot. KK flop ace and have to get away from it. then bust when i raise utg w/KQ, get reraised by LP, it's limit so i have to call, flop Q-high and raiser has AA obv.

then did a sng, here was the crucial hand, which also summarizes how i've been running since getting my acct to high point of $210...

excuse me while i vomit. so unbelievably sick.

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

now this is just getting ridiculous

so other than winning one 6-handed $5 omaha sng, i have not had a SINGLE cash since pulling off the daily double double-cash. i have been a combination of unbelievably card dead, coolered to death, sucked out all over, and some bad plays on my part. my roll is down from 210 to 140. today's big ones - in omaha i screwed up when i turned quads and didnt let my opponent hang himself, and he ended up busting me when he called my sizable preflop raise w/9956 rainbow, flop 789. genius. gg me

then did $2 1r/1a. built good stack early, then down around 45 players or so it started crumbling - couldnt hit a flop, couldnt catch a draw - nothing. last hand - i raise 3x w/AJ. board runs out 8-9-10-7-J. what does the moron have? QJ offsuit of course. then while i still had the table open, next hand somebody hit a K on the turn w/K8 against shorty allin w/a2 and the clown that busted me got on this guy for being a lucky mf'er. i went BALLISTIC on the shitbag. of course he threw out all 3 classic donkey lines/excuses - 1. well i have your chips, 2. its only $2, 3. let's play HU. i'm outranking the schmuck by 50% on opr so i prob should've taken him up on it but whatever, i cant do that because the reality is the worse someone is, the more they beat me, that's just a fact of my life.

i have got to get this shit turned around, and quick.

next up was the .10 rebuy - my bustout was shoving for 8xBB w/a9 and the bb called with the unbeatable 6-4 soooooooooooted and of course ran out the flush. so fkng disgustingly sick. I will never even begin to be able to imagine the thought processes of these idiots making plays like that.

excuse me while i go jump off another bridge.

Saturday, July 26, 2008

bent over by full tilt all day long

$2 180-man. doubled up on the first hand when i shoved w/kk and of course got called by a8 off and magically no ace. held steady, then set the perfect trap to chip up...

absolutely amazing. idiot falls hook line & sinker, and i get fukd.

finally went for the doubleup here, perfect flop, then fukd again...

love open-limping Q4 offsuit obv

Did a $4 token sng, built up good stack early, then donked it off horribly. no sad stories on this one, i played like ass and blew it, finished 4th.

then the $2 rebuy, had good stack for a while, called shorty allin w/a10 and couldnt hit against his QQ, then my AJ got mini-reraised and whiffed flop, and with blinds flying, ended up allin w/ak against ak and 88, nothing for me

on to the early double...

busted out of B early. misplayed a hand where i put opponent on busted draw and called down with bottom pair, then ran JJ into QQ pf obv.

then in A just could not get anything going at all, got very short near bubble and couldnt even find a spot to shove. finally folded to me otb w/J5 sooooted so i shove and major asshole in sb instacalls with a4 off, flop j53, turn blank, river 2 @#$)#@$_!@)$@#_)#!_$@#)$#_@$)_#@

last was $5 stud/8 tourney. this was i think the single unluckiest i've ever been in a tourney. i've had 1 or 2 ridiculously unlucky hands, but this tourney, start to finish, was just the most continuously god-awful luck i've had in one tourney. pretty much every monster draw didnt get there, and got nailed by several 1 or 2 outers against me. my luck in this was so bad that i made the final table, and didn't cash. yep, paid 7 spots, i finished 8th, cause of course i had to make my stand with a 7 low on 4th st when villain had 5 low. of course he caught his low, and paired his ace, while i caught nothing, and bubbled. what a freakin joke.

so after my double cash bonus the other night i was back up all the way to $210, now back down to $171. so incredibly freaking frustrating

double cash

Well after taking down the rambler event the other night and making final tables in 2 $2 rebuy tourneys this week, my confidence is running good, so decided to take a shot at both ends of the daily double for the first time.

very excited to see my cards on hand 1 of the A tourney, but the results made it seem like it was going to be a quick night:

Folding there made me want to puke, but I knew it was what I had to do. I probably should've check-called the river instead of leading out, but once i got pushed in, I knew the chances I was ahead were slim to none, and even though I'd be giving up more than half my stack on the first hand, I felt like I had to try to at least give myself a chance to recover rather than just say screw it and bust.

sure enough, I did recover. i recovered quite well actually, not only cashing but building up a pretty decent stack. At the same time I managed to cash in B also, even though I was relatively card-dead. I just kinda hung around, picked some spots to chip up a bit, and made it through. Busted 91st in B when I ran KQ into A10 and KQ, then 88 into JJ.

Thought I could make a deep run in A, until this:

I thought about whether or not I needed to stack off here, but I dont see how I couldnt. AK shows up here a huge amount of the time to make this a +EV play imo. tough cooler.

But it ended up being a little more than $50 profit for the night with the 2 cashes and $37 bonus for double cash. not bad at all.

terrible day then recovery

bad morning, busted out everywhere, dropped about $30.

then went for $2 rebuy & actually finished 6th. pissed though cause there was another baby stack & 5th would've been $13 more. I open shoved 9-10 soooooted otb & sb woke up w/QQ. gg me :(

went on to $2 freezeout, busted 83rd, 88 flopped set against my KK.

3 big losing hands today - AQ to AJ, AQ to QJ and KK to 88. gotta love it.

Monday, July 21, 2008

another day, another 2-outer

$8 4-table sng for FTOPS #1, winner gets seat, 3 other spots get money. won couple big pots early, which gave me big enough stack to survive the card-deadedness that followed. eventually got to ft & blinds were skyrocketing, but just couldnt find a good spot to get my money in.

finally, got this...

ho hum, i'm so used to it.

sick, just sick

well first I played a $3 MTT & played one of the single worst tourneys of my life. just horrible.

then $2 1r/1a. one of my problems in mtt play is losing too many chips by calling something I shouldn't just simply because of pot odds. so i thought about that here...

shoulda called just based on getting 5-1 but i didnt want to donk off 10% of my stack with 10-high. ugh

then this not too long after...

worst part of that one was if i would've noticed the 2nd caller, i would've called too, but i missed it. now i want to puke.

made up for it a little bit on the next hand:

then came courtesy double up #1:

then courtesy double up #2:

and then the typical bustout:

of course he was the guy i probably bust if i play the 33 earlier. i commented after the hand and he said "well i had chips to spare". so sick. idiotic moronic donkeys score another one.

spadeclub follies

didnt play at all wed. nite & only thing i did lastnight was spadeclub nightly $500. busted 60-something. It is amazing how god-awful the play is on there

first issue was this clown who when not in a hand tried to tell somebody to call a shove by me. i told him he needed to mind his own business when he's not in a hand, and the schmuck went on about how i cant tell him what to do. couple other people tried to back me up and this moron just didnt get it. i made a comment about how gay he looked, and he said he is actually gay. LMAO!!! idiot tilted out a few hands later aipf w/3-8 offsuit. classic.

anyway, here's how i busted -

blinds 600/1200, i'm in BB with about 14k and KJ off. folds to mp w/about 30k who minraises (donk move #1). folds to me, i call. flop AQ8 rainbow. i check, mp MINBETS 1200! (donk move #2). reading that as lack of ace, i shove. He calls & shows JJ (donk move 3). bricks & i'm out.

so let's summarize genius here -

1. minraise w/JJ
2. minbet flop
3. call CRAI with 2 overs on board

seriously, i should be at FT of every single tourney i play on there.

Rambler series

so lastnight's rambler was a heads-up event. got a first round bye which i was happy about, til i realized i'd be down 2-1 at start of my 2nd round match, especially after dropping a few hundred chips early on. then just kinda hung around, first big hand was this:

actually picked up AA next hand but no action.

next big hand was the trap FTW:

so then it was on to match 2 against a newbie, DanDude41. made amazingly quick work of him, winning the match in 5 hands, 2 of which decided things.

Big hand #1:

and #2:

So then it was on to the final, against Blyght, not Rambler amazingly enough (epic fail on the rigging)

this match was brutal.

calling flop to bluff turn i guess?

tried to get creative here, to no avail:

not sure what he thought i was betting flop with here:

this was just a sick call by him that i ended up getting lucky on:

doubled up when my Q9 flopped a straight, then the hand that broke me:

I didnt bet the flop cause he obv wasnt folding anything at this point. probably should've bet turn but thinking 3rd level, didn't think he'd be able to put me on a hand either, and could easily shove on me. on the river I was agonizing - i honestly felt like he either had 88 or air. nothing else made sense. K - would've bet flop probably, if not turn. J - probably bet flop to take it down if i missed. thought maybe Q10 but figured he'd throw something out. When it came down to it, I thought I had him but I didn't want to be humiliated if I called all-in with ace high and lost, so i mucked. he said he had 9-high. !@#!@_#)@_$@#!(%#$)%*#$)%@ that would've been a crazy sick call, and gotten me back in it. instead, i get it in on the next hand, and he dodges about 42 outs to end it:

overall i'm very pleased with my play for the most part. I made a couple of well-thought out moves that actually worked for a change, which was nice. and after dropping back down under $40 my roll is back up over $140.

AK blues cont'd

so when I have AK, it screws me. When I go against it, this...

again, DIAGDFGF AK!!!!!!!!

that was a $5 KO tourney

my other results for the day -

$3 double shootout to 750k - finshed 2nd at my table. got HU with 4-1 lead, shoved my A2 in to his AJ to even out, then AQ couldnt catch against his 88 allin preflop.

$3 KO - near-bubbled, finished 65th with 54 spots paid. lost some chips when i openraised with KQ soooooted and called shorty all in which was equivalent to a miniraise, he had KK obv. then my cards died and blinds jumped (turbo) and i just couldn't get it back.

$5 horse SNG - took 2nd. got HU with decent lead against sick luckbox & of course he caught everything in sight to take it down.

Did final table a tourney on spadeclub. finished 4th - crippled with JJ, raised & got one caller - flop K84 with one club - villain checks, i bet enough to put him all in, which was slight overbet to pot, he called with Ac9c and barry-greenstein-booked me. sick. donktards.

DIAGDGF AK!!!!!!!!

I have been having massive problems with AK lately.

Latest in the FT fantasy freeroll tonight. after i played what i think might have been my best tourney ever. picked all the right spots, made all the right moves, like this against the aggrodonk station maniac donkey:

then comes the goddam AK...

such a shame for me to go out that way. played my balls off and blew it just like that. i dont know if i could've done it any differently. guess i could've flatted preflop instead of reraising to commit myself, but that's so nitty, esp 4-handed.

well the upside is my "roll" was $45, won $80 on this, so i cant argue with that.

full tilt can suck my left nut

so i run a shitty $2 stud/8 stt

then nyrps - pick up AA twice in 4 hands with no action, few hands later get AK in BB, standard raise, rambler reraises, I shove, he calls w/77 & board bricks

then i jump in a $5 s/8 stt. big chip lead, start to lose it as shorties hang on like cockroaches. regain the lead, then bust like a motherfucker in these 2 hands back to back

blah

$5 stud tourney ran like crap, every time i had a good low draw somebody would draw lower, couldnt hit any high hands at all

NLHE sng, ran AK into AA. gg

took 18th at spadeclub. J3 in BB, no raise, flop trips w/2 spades, draw got there on the river. gg

another one of those nights

so here's how its gonna run tonight

first was spadeclub, couldnt catch anything, then was gonna shove k10 soooooted on aggrodonk but my wife clicked fold by mistake. not nice. he showed 33 so it wouldve been race time so who knows. ended up short and shoving w/k10 off after some brain surgeon open-limped AQ for 200 with less than 1100 left. genius.

then this on ft - SNG #1 - of course had to catch the A to add insult to injury

followed by some -10% roi superstar telling me never to call a reraise w/AK. thanks dude.

SNG #2...

same one...

fought like mad to hang in. then great call to get into money position. she'd been miniraising a lot so i knew the shove was nothing super-strong...

then the 2-outer luckbox pulls this and i'm out...

it is incredible how many coolers i run into.

edit - the nite finished with another spadeclub flameout. down to 2 tables, in great shape w/over 100k in chips (floated between 3rd-6th). w/BB @ 4k, shorty w/about 25k raises utg to 12. i reraise to 60 w/AK (figured enough to iso w/out risking my whole stack w/chip leader behind me) - chipleader calls. Flop comes 10Jx, i check obv, leader bets enough to put me allin. sick. i fold. leader shows 10-10. puke

few hands later i make the mistake that is one of my biggest leaks - shove utg w/a9 soooooooted. chip leader has ak obv. gg me... 13th place. $5 ($150 to winner)

best/worst part is dumbass finished 4th after having a ridiculous chip lead at time i busted. blah.

oh and here is perfect example why i will never put money on cracksmokerstars ever again...

first hand of freeroll (yes, i know it's a freeroll, but still...)

pick up KK, in front of me there's a raise, 2 calls, a reraise - i shove, 3 calls, i'm in against AQ soooooted, AJoff, Q10off... board runs out x78910... AJ takes it down. yeah uh huh rng runs gooot

stud cash streak ends & monster call

well after the stud/8 stt winning streak ended last time, now cash streak has ended as well. went out 7th after 4 hands where I either couldn't catch the 5th low card or got rivered by some donkey calling down with a mediocre hi and no lo. oh well

instead, i took down a holdem stt. thought for sure it wasnt gonna go my way after this...

but then a sick call FTW...

now i'm debating if i should try to arrange a tilt to stars transfer w/someone to try out some steps for the wcoop. gotta think about that, the idea of playing on cracksmokerstars riggaments really doesnt appeal too much. we'll see...

lol streakendaments

meh... rivered to death HU to finish 2nd in a $2 s/8 stt. got HU with decent lead and luckbox caught everything to my nothing. still, cant really complain about 4 firsts and a 2nd in my last 5.

to be continued...

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

streak kinda continues

well i flamed out of the $5 stud/8 tourney. just terrible, got mad rivered (i think) early on & couldn't catch anything when i needed to. dont think my early exit was any reason to think my newly-found success in stud/8 is a fluke. when you have trips showing on 6th and someone calls w/2 pair anyway and fills up on the river, not much you can do.

but, i did win another STT, so that streak is now at 4 straight.

also took down the NYRPS o/8 event. have to say i ran pretty sick in that, for a very rare change the cards were actually on my side. also made a kenny tran-like call late HU vs. rambler. i'll post some hand replays when i get around to it

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

streak continues

so i ran my stud hi-lo stt winning streak to 3 lastnight. this one was good because although i think i played well, i did catch some sick cards in the first 2. this one was more a product of my play - i got shortstacked 3-handed and had to fight my way back, and did just that, ultimately taking it down.

obv i dont expect to win every one i play, but going back to when i started playing, i believe i've played 6 stud hi-lo STTs, won 5 and came in 3rd in the 6th cause of a badly misplayed hand that blew it for me.

i'm not sure how many multi's i've played over the years, only a handful (mostly freerolls, probably only 2 or 3 paid entry tourneys), and did make a final table.

i'm not sure why, i think i just have a better feel for the game, and also i dont tilt at all because once i fold i really cant keep track of what cards i would have gotten, so it's not like folding a KJ in holdem and seeing a flop of AQ10 and steaming.

there's a $5 mtt on tilt tonight, so hopefully i'll give that a shot & we'll see how it goes.

but i made a decision, which is that i'm going to try to keep playing & see if it's for real or a fluke. and if i have success for a decent enough period of time, then next time there's a big tourney series in the area, ws circuit, borgata classic, etc. - i'll give the stud-8 tourney a crack.

so we'll see...

new game & sick call

well, i might have found the game that can be my niche - stud hi-lo. i've done well in the few tries in the past but that was mainly a fluke that i even played the game. i decided to try a stt satellite to the msop and finished 3rd. it was a very disappointing 3rd because i had a massive chip lead and blew it. i got very unlucky in a couple of spots and badly misplayed one hand, and that was that. but going back over the hands I saw that i did play very well overall. I posted on the cp forums asking for a 2nd opinion, and thanks to grandhustle8 for taking the time to do so, and he said I did play very well except for the one bad hand and maybe a couple of other spots where i could've done things a little differently but nothing majorly wrong.

so I decided to keep trying, and i've won the last 2 STTs i've played. and with the way i've been running lately, if this can continue to be a trend, i might just have to make stud hi-lo my game permanently.

unless, that is, i can keep making sick calls like this one in holdem...

i havent made a call like that in a while, so it felt good. i was actually putting him on AQ, but thats close enough i guess :)

but the good feeling was short-lived. that was $2 1r/1a on tilt. got almost wiped out early but recovered, was about mid-pack at the break, then hit the see-saw.

first, check-call FTW...

double back up when my 10s outraced AJ, then this crap...

tough break. folds to me in the cutoff, so a7 sooooooted is worth a raise. i like to raise less than 3xbb in a spot like this usually, but unfortunately doing so sometimes can price somebody in, as it did for k9 to set-mine. I knew shorty was tilting and ugly was a station, and getting back to me at 6-1 I felt like i had to call. flop was good for giving me top-top but bad that it was only 7-high so i was worried about something like 88 or 99, but figured if i threw out the bet i did, i'd take it down if k9 & ugly missed. but, they didnt obv.

few hands later pick up 99 utg+1 and shove, only to run into 1010

gg me, 80th place FTL.

this one pissed me off. i had tens once, 99 when i busted, and about 6 other times i had pocket pairs 7 & under and couldn't flop a set once. meanwhile they were luckboxing all around me.

oh well, guess i need to stick to stud hi-lo

Wednesday, June 25, 2008

very depressing

Just an awful nite. Did a FTP stt with winner getting 20 T$. had about an 11-1 chiplead heads up. got villain allin on the turn with 3rd pair on a hand where i had 18 outs, couldnt catch one. short time later, he called off his stack with 33 against my a4 soooooooooted, no good. end up allin w/Q10 vs. JJ, flop gutter, cant catch.

at the same time did a $4 stud h/l stt, top 2 getting $15 msop seat. 3-handed with 2/3 of the chips in play and blew it. had the shorty allin, caught a miracle river to complete a straight and a low to scoop. few hands later I made one bad mistake, chasing an 8-7 low when villain was showing 8-6 and playing like he had the low. end up all in with the best hand and again villain catches the miracle river to bust me.

I got the roll up to almost $300 not that long ago. Cashed out $100, and now down to $50. Along with everything else that's wrong in my life, it's just all extremely depressing. I can't do anything right anymore, in poker, work, or any other aspect of life, and it's just really wearing me down big time.

sickest shit i've ever seen

check out this progression how the world's all-time luckbox goes from out the door to top prize...

this one was the real killer:

and after i fought back a little, the finisher...

i mean come on, you just can NOT make this stuff up. it's just absolutely pathetic.

on and on it goes...

so here's tonight so far...

and...

oh, and there was the hand on spadeclub - KK, raise 3xBB utg, get reraised, i shove, he calls & shows QQ. flop KQA... turn - Q

lol 1-outerments

Saturday, June 14, 2008

yada yada

i havent written as much lately because frankly writing about all the bad beats, suckouts and ridiculous coolers just gets old. like lastnight, flop a 10-high flush out of bb in unraised pot vs. k-high flush. today bust out of 2 when i ran AQ into AA on Q-high flop and K10 into A10 on 10-high flop in unraised pot. then another tourney raise 3xBB from utg w/kk, genius overshoves w/a7 sooooooooted and flops ace, couple hands later i bust AK < QQ > 1010.

all sooooo typical...

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

there is no doubt, i am officially cursed

so i jump into $2 rebuy MSOP satellite with 2 $50 seats. bust out 8th. how?

i have dropped from roughly $130 to $60 in my last 3 sessions. Every single game is ever a joke of a suckout like this, or a ridiculous cooler.

there is absolutely no doubt in my mind, i am cursed.

Monday, June 9, 2008

give me a FKKKKING break!!!!!

I run so good. $3 turbo KO tourney, down under 150 people. this hand puts me in top 15 or so. oh but wait, it's me, i'm not allowed to win...

just plain sick

next hand busted a6 < aq

next tourney... put me on AJ obv...

beyond disgusting

Saturday, June 7, 2008

i run sooooooo F-ing good

next hand, out a3 < a7

obv

soooooooooooooo typical. donkoff has been openshoving every hand from cutoff or button, knew i just had to wait for the right spot. of course i get just that and then full tilt bends me over and rams it in.

Thursday, June 5, 2008

right play wrong result, then bubble out

meh

that was a huge hand for me. got deep, was running 7th of 13, then every single short stack doubled up, i couldnt get anything even remotely playable, ended up facing this...

hey man, nice bubble

)$()!#@)%!*$%)#@#^(*%$^%$&*$%)^%(@$!(#@)

at least I ended up for the night, but not quite what i had in mind.

robbed

so i won a sat. to a $15 msop, tried a $1.75 turbo stt. got to heads up, won a big pot when AK actually held up, then this...

had to shove 10-5 2 hands later and of course donk had to have A4 and flop 2 pr. gg me. not

Thursday, May 29, 2008

for the first time ever... it's JL131... FTW!

FINALLY! my first non-freeroll/non-satellite MTT win. even though it's spadeclub, still feels pretty good. crazy part is my opponent heads up lost his connection and I could've rushed the hands and finished him off that way, but i actually ran the clock a little cause i just didnt want to win that way. he came back with only 56k in chips to my 1.3 mil, then doubled up 3 times, each one with me ahead all-in preflop. finally got it on the 4th try, on the river. so finally I can say GG me, and mean it.

lol nofoldemholdemaments

just cant get a donkey to fold in low-limit donkfests... from now on i open fold KK preflop...

the word sick comes to mind...

bad night gone good

what? am I posting something positive? can it really be true?

yes, although it sure didn't start that way.

went to a .25/.50 limit table w/$8 and dropped it all very quickly. Key hand was KK, flop KAJ, turn blank, river Q, and the J10 offsuit chased every street to get there. lol donkeygutshotchasesuckoutaments

then did a stt, went out 4th. never seen worse play. 3 different players at different times played offsuit kojak like aces. i ended up busting with AK vs. JJ.

but then as i often do when holdem mistreats me, i turned to my friend omaha. first a hi 6-handed stt, came in 2nd. got to heads up way too far behind and couldn't get there. last hand we both turned the same straight & each had flush draws, hers got there.

then did a $5 hi-lo stt and took it down for only my second 1st in about 2 months. ROI was up to about 45% at the high point, trying hard to get it back to 40 now. we'll see what tonight brings...
